Dear Yuletide Writer, this year I wish:

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant - Stephen R. Donaldson

I put in Mhoram and Saltheart Foamfollower, but feel free to treat this as Any. I love the Land (and only now realized that I should have nommed Worldbuilding, oops) and especially these two characters, so anything you want to tell me about them or their adventures with or without Covenant will be joy to the eyes that read. I have some old prompts for them in older letters, if you want to peruse them, but suffice to say I will read literally anything and rejoice. I had a Huge Crush on both Mhoram and Saltheart while reading for the first time, they're such lovely and nuanced characters, and Mhoram's endless patience and dynamism and Saltheart's vast compassion and joy tinged with longing just... *chef's kiss* hit me where it matters. If you want a more specific prompt, how about something of them after Covenant has returned home for the first time and they work to rebuild the legacy of Lords? Or something about Saltheart's adventures before he met Covenant? How did Mhoram become a Lord, yes he was the son of two, but it wasn't hereditary iirc? Also art is welcome, if you'd like to create any. The environments are lovely, especially Andelain and Revelstone and Coercri, if you don't feel like drawing Endless Ranyhyn Running or Mhoram's smile.

The Garden of Earthly Delights - Hieronymus Bosch

One of my favorite arts ever! I could ramble about the weird little critters all over and the vaguely sexual undertones happening everywhere (except the Paradise, of course) and the sheer fantasticity of it all (totally a word, shush) but I really don't have any specific prompts ready-made for this. Surprise me. Who are the merpeople? Why do they do whatever it is that they do? Flying on fish? Carrying huge berries? Doing acrobatics in a pile of naked humans? (yeah yeah, a sexual metaphor, we get it.) What do they look like under the armor, and are all the armored ones male? Why do they float on water? Or, if you want to go that way, some Hot Mermaid Sex with humans, go wild. I love all mermaid art, by the way, so any recreations of them are more than welcome. (My tumblr may be a quarter full of mermaid pictures, especially the monstrous ones, so... I may have a type.) Consider this as much a worldbuilding prompt as an Any prompt.

Gaea series - John Varley

The world is incredible, and the books only touch the variety of adventures to be had there. Give me a story or some art that wasn't in the books, about the building of the highway, about climbing the spoke, about a Titanide feast, about some tender moments between Cirocco and Gaby, of Gaea in her youth or at least before she went completely insane, or anything else you might want to create! I'll eat it up with a spoon.

Historical Farm (UK TV)

I just love the idea of this series, and even if I know they didn't Actually spend the Whole Year working in the farm, I'd love to imagine that they did. An AU of creator's choice, perhaps? Pick any era, any country, any world. How do they grow the Westerosi ice grapes? Or how do they make tubby toast and raise rabbits in Teletubbies' land? What would an asteroid farm look like? Otherwise just a day in the life on any of their farms is fine. I ship them (threesomes are best!) but you don't have to, but if you'd like to take the romantic option I like pining, hurt/comfort, tired-but-happy moments, funny moments, and just general interaction between the three.

Seraphina Series - Rachel Hartman

I love the interaction between Seraphina and Orma, especially when they're both being very dragon-ish. She is trying to balance between her human and her dragon sides, and he is so purely a dragon that it makes a fascinating read. How about more about her childhood when her uncle was her only contact to that side of her heritage? Otherwise anything you want to create! I really love the world and the fact it's situated in the southern hemisphere. I know I have requested this before, so the tag "yuletide letter" should bring out more prompts.

All in all, I love me a good worldbuilding, fluff, humor, adventures, pining (where applicable), hurt/comfort (where applicable), characters being their most selves, threesomes (where applicable), am comfortable with any rating from G to E, just go lightly with violence, canon-typical is usually fine. Art and treats are very welcome. Have fun!

First of all, thanks for participating! You're amazing! I'll read anything from G to E, just please no unnecessary graphic violence (necessary violence accepted in the name of worldbuilding, for example mentions of animal slaughter are fine, graphic details... not so much.) Then to the Speshul Requests (optional):

Seraphina (Seraphina, Lucian Kiggs, Princess Glisselda, Orma):

I'm very fond of my OT3, and how they managed to slip the whole affair through every hoop to look Respectable. I'd like something intimate about them, something when they're in private, being a family. Their dynamic is exquisite and I'd love to see how they make it work. (Not necessarily sex, although I'm not averse to it - the relationships are so much more than just that!) Otherwise I'd love to see more about Orma and Seraphina. Maybe more about her childhood when her uncle was her only contact to that side of her heritage? Music? Seraphina reads as autistic-coded to me, but Orma takes it to draconic (heh) measures, and it's lovely to see her balance between the very human intuitions and emotions and the stranger draconic ones. (You don't need to put them all into the same story, if that doesn't work timeline-wise.) Go wild and explore the world and its wonders, if you want - I'll read anything from this fandom.

Historical farm (Alex Langlands, Ruth Goodman, Peter Ginn):

This was my last year's savior, I watched every part on Youtube and fell in love with the concept. I may ship the three a little (A Lot), but I don't expect you to. Give me details of their daily life in the farm, something that was cut from the series, or let's pretend they're actually really living in whatever period they're reenacting, hmmm? Or put them into any historical setting you feel comfortable writing! (I'm expecting the historical accuracy of your average romance novels, if you go that way, so don't worry about detail. Or if you know EVERYTHING about, idk, rice cultivation in 19th century India, go wild and flood me with the particulars!) Or put them into a fantasy setting! How do they raise the rabbits and flowers in the Teletubbies land and make tubby custard?

Time Team (Any):

My this year's savior! What do they dig up next, and where? They have only three days, can they decipher the Tombs of Atuan? Certainly not the ruins of Gormenghast? How about the castle of the Sleeping Beauty? (What if she never woke up... until now?) What if one of the roundhouse-slash-crop circles was an actual fairy ring? I know about archaeology about as much as I've learned from the series, so feel free to hand-wave the actual thing, or not. I'm fine either way. Any period or random fandom is fine, if I don't know it yet, I'll take it as a recommendation. This is the only fandom where I definitely Do Not want any shipfic, except maybe Phil/flint-knapping... Or if you don't want to transport them far away, tell me what had to happen that Tony stopped jumping into people's trenches without permission. Or give me a snippet of silliness that was cut off for some obscure reason? (Also Time Team is a team, so if I didn't request your favorite members, put them in anyways and I'll be happy.)

All in all, no A/B/O dynamics, no unnecessary violence, yes adventures, humor, fluff and/or pining where applicable, have fun, thanks in advance, all my former letters are here too (tagged yuletide letter), feel free to browse them for additional ideas.

First of all, thank you for participating! You are awesome! In short, I prefer fluffy to angsty (unless specifically requested otherwise, also I love ALL! THE! PINING! and hurt/comfort), am comfortable with any kind of rating, and appreciate humor and good worldbuilding, but I'm really OK with anything! Absolute DNWs are A/B/O and explicit gore, also please no unnecessary cruelty towards animals or children. (Necessary cruelty goes with the worldbuilding. Meaning mentioning animal slaughter or illness is fine, gory details... not so much.)

Specific Wishes Are Specific:

Historical Farm

A new episode in my favorite OT3:s adventures in farming? Pick your favourite time and/or place in history, from Neolithic slash-and-burn to Viking conquest era to far future. Maybe they get a Tardis and go peek at some of the farms and eras they've covered? Or move to British Empire India to cultivate rice? Or maybe their time doubles from a few centuries in the future decide to make a 2020 Farm? (I'm expecting them to stay indoors and do All The Crafts. And banana bread. And start a balcony farm.) What would an Asteroid Habitat Farm look like? An alien world farm? Fantasy farm? Otherwise a snippet of life from any of the existing series (What got censored, and why?) would be nice.

They're my OT3, but I'm equally happy with & and /. Ruth is my favorite, so her point of view would be most appreciated, but I love the boys just as dearly.

The Nargun and the Stars

I think this was the book that made me aware of the rich lore of the Australian Aboriginal cultures. How did Charlie and Edie find Potkoorok when they were kids? Any adventures they had together? What made them stay together in the farm instead of going away or, say, marrying, was there any involvement by the original spirits? Or else, what became of the Nargun inside the mountain, did it ever get away and if so, what kind of world did it meet? Also in my head Simon, Edie and Charlie are at least partly Aboriginals, can't remember if the book said anything about it, so if it fits your story and you feel like transporting the plot that way, please do! Not in any way necessary, though, if you're like me and have never been in Australia or done any deeper research on the matter.

Emily of the New Moon

I asked for Emily and Ilse, but feel free to drop in the boys too. I'd love an adventure from their childhood, or youth, or young adulthood, or even after their prospective marriages (if that happened in your story - I'm okay with them ending up together too!) Something light-hearted and characteristic (and funny, you can't avoid funny with Ilse!) or something a bit darker and gloomier - think Emily's second sight or Ilse's temper. As long as it ends well, I'm fine! I love the eerie spookiness of old houses and unsolved mysteries that Emily often bumps into, and the beauty of her vision of nature, and Ilse's level-headed rashness (if there be such a thing) and joie de vivre. (Also Let! Ilse! Swear!) I think I've wished for Emily before, here's a link to my former letter if you want some other ideas: https://pikkugen.dreamwidth.org/144669.html
